JM-Arte Fine Arts is the successor of one of the largest art galleries in South America, Galería de Arte Contemporánea, founded in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1972 by Julio César Mariño.

 

Throughout its history, Galería Contemporánea proved a steadfast platform of Uruguay´s vibrant, cross-cultural art community.  The gallery sponsored countless cultural events and represented most talented national, regional and international artists, all the while providing collectors and artists alike with high-quality in-house museum custom framing and restoration services.

 

It is the holistic knowledge gained as an art dealer, art restorer, and artist in his own right that has earned Julio Mariño his reputation as a true Art Entrepreneur.

 

JM-ARTE is a full-service art gallery offering sales, restoration, custom framing, appraisals, advising on collection management, art leasing and exhibit installations.   We takes pride in its long-standing tradition to promote art and support the community across borders and cultures.

 

A resident of the Washington, DC area since 1995, Mr. Mariño continues to pursue his lifelong interest in the arts both as an artist and conservationist. Mr. Mariño draws unreservedly upon his experience to provide ingenious solutions and advise clients on wide-ranging aspects of art collection, trade and conservation matters.
