Mr. Montani began painting in 1938, with the sun, sea and sky providing him continual inspiration. From the very start, Mr. Montani distinguished himself with his originality. His paintings emerge from his everyday life and, allowing his imagination to run wild, plunge into the universality of mankind with every brushstroke. He is considered a modern painter with a keen sensibility of his surroundings and the ability to capture the mysterious rhythms interwoven in our lives. He uses mainly oils on canvas to produce magnificent effects, revealing a unique vision of the cosmos in his relentless quest for a glimpse of what lies beyond our planet.
EXHIBITIONS
Andrés Montani has exhibited his artwork individually and collectively since 1948, including invitations by prestigious Artist Salons and well-established private galleries in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, U.S.A. and Spain.
Mr. Montani’s artwork is represented in several museums including the Museo de Bellas Artes and the Museo Nacional Juan Manuel Blanes; the Museo de Arte Moderno in Sao Paolo and the Museo de Arte Moderno in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil; the Minnesota Art Museum, in the US; the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo in Santiago, Chile; and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo and the Sala Santa Catalina in Madrid, Spain.
